PNP

Most Provinces and territories in Canada, excluding Quebec, can nominate immigrants through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Each province or territory has its distinct stream, with specific requirements eligibility, and nomination guidelines. The PNP program applies to candidates who possess the skills and education to meet the skillset demand of the region.

You can apply for PNP either through the paper-based process or the Express Entry System.

Paper-Based Process: You can directly apply to the relevant stream of the province. If you are eligible, the province will nominate you. You can then apply for permanent residence to IRCC and pay the application fees. Submit your security check and medical check reports. On approval, the Right of Permanent Residence fee needs to be paid.

Express Entry: The candidate creates an online profile, and the eligibility of the candidate for the program will be evaluated. On meeting the criteria, the candidate will secure a place in the Express Entry Pool of candidates.

You contact the province or territory and apply for a nomination. If they agree to nominate, you create an online profile and show your nomination.

OR

You can create an online profile in the express entry system and convey your interest to the province or territory. They will send a notification of interest, and then you can apply to their express entry stream directly.

In either case, you will have to meet the eligibility criteria of the province.

If you are in the express entry pool, a province or territory may find your profile and send a notification of interest to your account. You may even have multiple notifications of interests in your account allowing you to choose from the various options.

On accepting a nomination, a total of 600 additional points will be added to your CRS score.

On selection to apply for Permanent Residency in Canada, you will receive a letter with complete details of the program you can apply for, the points you have been rewarded, the last date for submission, and the next steps forward. From the time of receiving the invitation, you have 90 days to submit your application.
